Peter 1:3-11 . |

3His divine power has given us
everything we need for life and
godliness through our knowledge of him
who called us by his own glory and
goodness. 4Through these he
has given us his very great and precious
promises, so that through them you may
participate in the divine nature and
escape the corruption in the world
caused by evil desires.
5For this very reason, make
every effort to add to your faith
goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
6and to knowledge, self-control; and
to self-control, perseverance; and to
perseverance, godliness;
7and to godliness, brotherly
kindness; and to brotherly kindness,
love.
8For if you possess these qualities
in increasing measure, they will keep
you from being ineffective and
unproductive in your knowledge of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
9But if anyone does not have them,
he is nearsighted and blind, and has
forgotten that he has been cleansed from
his past sins.
10Therefore, my brothers, be all
the more eager to make your calling and
election sure. For if you do these
things, you will never fall, 11and
you will receive a rich welcome into the
eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3-11 |

21Dear
friends, if our hearts do not condemn us,
we have confidence before God
22and receive
from him anything we ask, because we obey
his commands and do what pleases him.
23And this
is his command: to believe in the name of
his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one
another as he commanded us.
24Those who
obey his commands live in him, and he in
them. And this is how we know that he
lives
in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave
us. 1 John 3:21-24 |

1How
great is the love the Father has lavished
on us, that we should be called
children of God! And that is what we
are! The reason the world does not know us
is that it did not know him.
2Dear
friends, now we are children of God, and
what we will be has not yet been made
known. But we know that when he appears,
we shall be like him, for we shall
see him as he is. 3Everyone
who has this hope in him purifies himself,
just as he is pure.... -1

Your
new birth is the beginning of an exciting new
adventure. You have been forgiven and all of your past
sins have been forgotten. New Life Begin!
The
real Christian life is not boring and stagnant. You
will grow in God daily. As a seed is planted in the
ground and dies and then begins to grow, so you will
grow. You must grow in your relationship with Christ
in order to flourish into what you were destined to
be.
In
your time, your life will grow into the beautiful
image of Jesus Christ and you will blossom and bear
fruit. The Bible is the soil in which your new life
grows. Understanding it takes daily Christian growth.
Prayer sends the roots of our life, deep into Gods
rich soil. Experiences in the Holy Spirit and with
other believers are like the refreshing rain. With all
these in action, you will not only grow, but you will
multiply and have an opportunity to plant new
seedlings among the forest. Congratulations and
welcome into His family... |

A New Life In
Christ |
|
The Lord Jesus Christ is now the center of
your life. From Him radiates the qualities
He wants you to have. When we are born
again, the Bible call us spiritual babies
yearning for spiritual milk. We are called
to grow into a maturity in Christ. We are
to grow up to be like Jesus!
A fundamental pattern of growth is
outlined in
*2
Peter 1:3-11
*Read these important verses. In verses
5-7, we find the 8 facets of true
spiritual growth. In those verses we begin
with faith because faith is the key which
unlocks the door to God. You accepted
Jesus Christ into your life by faith. By
an act of your will, you placed all your
hope for eternal life in Him. At that
moment, God entered your life. At that
moment, you began to live the Christian
life..
New beginnings are always exciting. You
have begun an exciting new life with God.
Christ has taken away your sin and now
your ready to grow. This excitement can
stay with you if you experience daily
Christian growth. Christians who fail to
grow soon lose this excitement. Keep
fresh! Grow in His Word everyday. |

What's
in a church?
Well there are many things you need to look at. Does the Church
believe in the Truth of the Bible? What are the church
fundamentals and priorities? And most important, what do they say
about Jesus?
Lets look at one church in particular... |
|
|
|
|
|
...Calvary Chapel |

What is it that makes Calvary Chapel
different from other Bible-believing, evangelical
churches? It's always good to have a grasp of the unique
work that God has done in our fellowship. If Calvary
Chapel is exactly like the church across the street it
would be better to simply merge the two. But, if there
are distinctives that make us different, then we have a
unique and special place in the plan of God. Certainly
there are churches that share many of our beliefs and
practices. We're not renegades. But God has done a
wonderful work of balance in the Calvary Chapel movement
that does make us different in many areas.
There are many who believe in the
gifts and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, but they
don't have a strong emphasis on Biblical teaching, nor
do they look to the Word to guide their experiences with
the Holy Spirit. There are many who have a strong
emphasis on teaching the Word of God, but they don't
share the view that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are
available and valid today. In Calvary Chapel we find the
teaching of the Word, and an open heart to the work of
the Holy Spirit. It is this balance that makes Calvary
Chapel a distinct and uniquely blessed movement of God.
And so it's important to understand the Biblical
principles that make up the picture of why God has
allowed us to exist and grow.
|
|
This is not to say that all Calvary
Chapels are identical. I'm always amazed at how God can
take simple basic elements and create such variety out
of them. Basically, all of us have two eyes, a nose, a
mouth, and two ears, and yet how different we all look
from each other! People also have different emotional
make-ups. Now, God loves everyone. He loves the highly
emotional and He loves the dull and unemotional. In the
same way, wanting all men to be able to relate to Him,
God created a wide variety of churches. Some churches
appeal to those who are very emotional in their nature
while others appeal to a more staid and formal
personality. God, desiring to reach and bless all kinds
of people, seems to enjoy having a wide variety of
churches so that everybody's needs might be met, from
the highly emotional to the very formal, and all those
in between. Each of us has a part to play in God's plan,
but we all need to know where we fit in this wide
spectrum. That is why it's crucial for us to grasp what
we call the Calvary Chapel Distinctives. As we see what
makes our fellowship unique, we will also come to better
understand our position in the body of Christ.
