7a. How is
a family kept together? |
|
Family alienation is one of the
problems which many who come to Christ, experience. You cannot
make your family come to Christ and you do not need to
antagonize them because of your new faith. Kindness toward
your family is important. It is important to know what
priorities God expects in your life. Proper priorities for a
Christian life are as follows:
1. Your relationship with God
is first
2. Your family
relationships are second. God wants every member of your
family in His kingdom. He wants to use you to win them. Do not
separate yourself from them.
3. Your relationship to
your ministry and your fellowship with your local church are
third. |

Acts 16:29-34 |
29The jailer
called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul
and Silas. 30He then brought them out and asked,
"Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
31They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you
will be saved--you and your household." 32Then they
spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his
house. 33At that hour of the night the jailer took
them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his
family were baptized. 34The jailer brought them
into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with
joy because he had come to believe in God--he and his whole
family.

1 Timothy 5:4-8 |
4But if a
widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first
of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their
own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for
this is pleasing to God. 5The widow who is really
in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues
night and day to pray and to ask God for help. 6But
the widow who lives for pleasure is dead even while she lives.
7Give the people these instructions, too, so that
no one may be open to blame. 8If anyone does not
provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate
family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an
unbeliever.

Ephesians 5:25 |
25Husbands,
love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave
himself up for her |
|
1 Peter 3:7 |
7Husbands, in the
same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat
them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you
of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your
prayers. |
|
1 Peter 3:1-2 |
1Wives, in the same
way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do
not believe the word, they may be won over without words by
the behavior of their wives, 2when they see the
purity and reverence of your lives. |

7b. Which church should you
attend? |
|
If you, like many other new
believers, have come to Christ through somebody else's Church.
Or maybe you have no church background at all. In either case,
its important that you find a church and get plugged in.
Perhaps, if there is a church near your home, where you know
you will be fed spiritually and helped to grow, you could
attend there. Attend church at least once a week Gather with
other believers to pray, to study God's Word, to worship, and
to witness. Meeting in a small group but that is not enough.
You need to be part of a local church. Ask God to guide you in
your choice. Once you have chosen a church, become fully
involved. |
|
1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 |
6You became
imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering,
you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy
Spirit. 7And so you became a model to all the
believers in Macedonia and Achaia. |
|
1 Thessalonians 1:8 |
8The Lord's
message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and
Achaia--your faith in God has become known everywhere.
Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, |
|
1 Thessalonians 2:13 |
13And we also
thank God continually because, when you received the word of
God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word
of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at
work in you who believe.
|
|
1 Thessalonians 4:9-10 |
9Now about
brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you
yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. 10And
in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia.
Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more. |
|
1 Thessalonians 3:10 |
10Night and
day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and
supply what is lacking in your faith.
|
|
1 Thessalonians 5:12-22 |
12Now we ask you,
brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are
over you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13Hold
them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live
in peace with each other. 14And we urge you,
brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help
the weak, be patient with everyone. 15Make sure
that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be
kind to each other and to everyone else.
16Be joyful always; 17pray continually;
18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is
God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
19Do not put out the Spirit's fire; 20do
not treat prophecies with contempt. 21Test
everything. Hold on to the good. 22Avoid every kind
of evil. |

7c. Who should take the
Lords supper? |
|
The Lord's Supper, or
Communion, is part of our worship and fellowship together.
Christ gave it to us as a reminder of His suffering and death
for our sins. When you accepted Christ as your personal
savior. His blood cleansed you from all sins. You are now pure
and holy in God's sight. all this was possible because of the
cross. It was our sins that nailed Jesus there. The Lords
Supper is a time to remember Christ's sacrifice and to thank
Him for His infinite love. As you sit in His presence with
faith in your heart, He is able to minister to your every
need. |
|
Matthew 26:26-28 |
26While they
were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and
gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my
body."
27Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it
to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. 28This
is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for
the forgiveness of sins. |
|
1 Corinthians 10:16-17 |
16Is not the
cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation
in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a
participation in the body of Christ? 17Because
there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all
partake of the one loaf.
|
|
1 Corinthians 11:27-32 |
27Therefore,
whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an
unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and
blood of the Lord. 28A man ought to examine himself
before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 29For
anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the
Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30That is
why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have
fallen asleep. 31But if we judged ourselves, we
would not come under judgment. 32When we are judged
by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be
condemned with the world. |

7d.
What money should be given to God? |
|
All your giving should be
motivated by an unselfish love for God and for the world,
which has great physical and spiritual needs. If you learn to
give and give generously, you will learn the secret of a great
blessing. As you give to God, you provide Him with an
opportunity to richly bless you - not only financially, but in
every area of your life. |
|
2 Corinthians 9:6 |
6Remember this:
Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever
sows generously will also reap generously. |
|
Leviticus 27:30 |
30 " 'A tithe of
everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit
from the trees, belongs to the LORD ; it is holy to the LORD . |
|
Malachi 3:8-10 |
8 "Will a man
rob God? Yet you rob me.
"But you ask, 'How do we rob you?'
"In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a
curse-the whole nation of you-because you are robbing me.
10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there
may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD
Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of
heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have
room enough for it. |
|
2 Corinthians 9:7 |
7Each man
should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not
reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful
giver.
|
|
2 Corinthians 9:8-11 |
8And God is able to
make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all
times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good
work. 9As it is written:
"He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever." 10Now he
who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also
supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the
harvest of your righteousness. 11You will be made
rich in every way so that you can be generous on every
occasion, and through us your generosity will result in
thanksgiving to God.
|
|
1 Corinthians 9:14 |
14In the same way,
the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should
receive their living from the gospel.

|
Galatians 6:6 |

receives instruction in the word must share all good things
with his instructor.
